Although sparsely populated, Eastern Oregon has a lot to offer both residents and travelers. Snow covered mountains, arid deserts and wild rivers are some of the diverse scenery one can find in this region.

There are multiple forms of entertainment in Eastern Oregon. The Anthony Lakes Mountain Resort area provides many outdoor recreational opportunities. With it's dry powder, downhill skiing here is exceptional. Other recreational opportunities include camping, boating, hiking, bicycling, fishing and river rafting.

There are also numerous museums, ghost towns, and historical walking tours that help visitors recall the rich and colorful history of the Oregon Trail, as well as it's history of gold mining, timber production, and ranching.
