On
the National Register of Historic Places, the
world famous Butte Creek Mill is the only grist
mill in Oregon still grinding flour. Built on
the banks of Little Butte Creek in 1872, local
farmers would bring their wheat to the mill, their
wagons lining the road for miles.
Today,
hundreds of Rogue Valley school children come
through the mill each year for field trips and
hands on learning. Children will leave the mill
with more knowledge in American History, Science
& Technology, Nutrition & Ecology.
