Portland Police Museum

Coming in the spring of 2008 is a hands-on exhibit on crime scene investigation specifically geared toward school-age children at the Portland Police Museum. Visitors will be able to operate an actual fingerprint scanning machine and florescent lights used to examine evidence. There will be a free child safety kit for kids to take home with them.

Oregon Chocolate Festival
Southern Oregon

Bigger, better and screaming CHOCOLATE! The fourth annual Oregon Chocolate Festival is an all-you-can-eat chocolate extravaganza presenting Oregon chocolate and specialty food vendors!

Oregon Chocolate Festival ticket is a two-day pass to chocolate paradise! (Saturday & Sunday, March 8th and 9th, from 11am till 4pm) Tastings of an array of wonderful goods created by over 15 Oregon chocolatiers will include chocolate bars, truffles, and delicious chocolate covered famous Oregon pears, nuts, berries as well as toffees, and local fudge.

13th Annual Spring Beer & Wine Fest
March 21 & 22, 2008
Portland

The nation's largest "Springtime" alcoholic event held annually at Easter time at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland. This event is all about educating your taste buds by sampling and comparing a variety of drink from hand-crafted beer, wine, cider, mead, and distilled spirits. Also featuring live music, food courts with gourmet items, and from the cooking stage renowned Chefs demonstrating cuisine using the "spirits" offered at the festival.

Annual Beach Cleanup
The Coast

The event will takes place along the entire Oregon coast, from the Washington to the California borders. Volunteers may check in at one of 42 meeting sites, pick up a litter bag, and head down to the beach to help improve the coast for wildlife and visitors. Coordinators suggest volunteers bring gloves, wear sturdy shoes, and be safe while having a good time!

Indoor Kite Festival

Free Rock and Gem Show features Thunder Egg Hunt for Children
April 5-6, 2008
Gresham

The Mount Hood Rock Club features a free thunder egg hunt for children at its annual rock and gem show. The show features demonstrations of rock and gem-related hobbies, creative exhibits by club members, auctions and sales of rough rock and slabs, as well as dealers with rocks, gems, fossils, beads, and rock hounding equipment. Admission is free. The thunder egg hunt is at 2:00 pm on Saturday the 5th . The Mount Hood Rock Club is an educational club, educating its members on the gifts of the lapidary workshop, the geological wonders of the Pacific Northwest and the world, and hosts field trips for rockhounds throughout the year.
