Eagle Cap Sled Dog Race - Joseph

This year there will be two races – an 8 dog, 100 mile, mid-distance race and the NEW 12 dog, 200 mile, mid-distance race from Joseph to Halfway and back, through the scenic Wallowa-Whitman National Forest!

A juried fine art show with displays of original art in a variety of media - painting, drawing, photography sculpture, jewelry, ceramics, fiber. Artists from anywhere are welcome to participate.

America's Global Village Festival
Ontario
June

This festival celebrates the authentic cultural villages - African, Basque, German, Hawaiian, Japanese, Mexican, Native American, Pioneer and Scottish. Each village features food, arts and crafts, cultural demonstrations and free youth activities. The main stage will highlight cultural entertainment throughout the day. Upon entering the park, visitors will be given a souvenir passport. With each visit to the villages, the passport will be stamped. When children have a full passport, they will receive a free prize. Adults who turn in a complete survey will have a chance to win a prize.

Chief Joseph Days Rodeo - Joseph

Five days of fast paced, exciting entertainment for the whole family. PRCA-sanctioned rodeos, Indian encampment, dance competition and a carnival turn Joseph into one big celebration! Chief Joseph Days has been voted one of the top small outdoor rodeos nationally, and it attracts major contenders to all of it's rodeo events, as well as top stock contractors, bullfighters, clowns, specialty acts, and has a total purse of more than $75,000.

Tamkaliks
July

The Tamkaliks Celebration (formerly Wallowa Band Descendants Friendship Feast & Pow Wow) is a celebration and recognition of the continuing Nez Perce presence in the Wallowa Valley. Festivities and dancing at the Homeland Project Site near Wallowa. Dance competitions, friendship feast. All are welcome to come watch and participate.

The Great Race
July

This is the country’s longest running vintage and richest vintage automobile rally. Each year more than 100 vintage automobiles participate. Each day, drivers and navigators carefully follow a set course while competing in a time-speed-distance race. Vehicles must be 45 years or older and the age factor plays a big part in the final score.

Inland Empire Blues Society Winner "Best Blues Event 2001”. Nominated "Best Blues Event” 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 & 2006

Bronze Blues & Brews is dedicated to bringing the best in Regional & National blues music to Wallowa County. They also are instrumental in supporting the local youth by providing grant money to arts & music programs in Wallowa County.

Umatilla County Fair

August

Held during the first full week of August. Entertainment is a big part of the fair with live entertainment on the main stage each evening, and numerous local acts and talent throughout the grounds during the day. The fair also features a carnival, livestock barns, open class exhibits. 4-H & FFA, over 110 commercial exhibits and lots of great food concessions.

Baker County Fair & Panhandle Rodeo
Halfway - September

A traditional County Fair which celebrates this region's agricutural heritage including, livestock auction & exhibits, rodeo, horse show, dances, parade, and craft exhibits. This year fair and rodeo fans will again enjoy a Midway filled with vendors and concessions, along with carnival rides and games for the kids.

Hells Canyon Mule Days - Enterprise
