Anthony Lakes Mt. Resort

With a ski terrain of 1100 acres and 21 runs with light dry snow and the Highest Base elevation in Oregon (7,100 feet), this Eastern Oregon ski resort is a stand out among other Oregon ski resorts. Lake Owyhee State Park

Baker Heritage Museum
Eastern Oregon

Home of Baker County History, the Baker Heritage Museum displays and interprets the rich history of the region.

Permanent and changing exhibits of mining, timber, ranching, agriculture, early Baker City life, Chinese culture and wildlife fill the 33,000 square foot building. Whether you spend an hour or spend the day touring the museum you will come away with an appreciation of our region and the people who settled here.

Children’s Museum of Eastern Oregon

Ever-changing, hands on exhibits for toddlers and up. Workshops for all grade levels are given where children learn through science, math, art, music, engineering, and cultural awareness. Toddlers can play in the Toddlers Exploration Zone, children can twist into a pretzel in the Shadow Room, create a masterpiece in the Art Room, play dress-up, or travel up the river in a keel boat with Lewis and Clark.

Tamástslikt Cultural Institute

The interpretive center for the Cayuse, Umatilla and Walla Walla Tribes. The public is invited to learn the history and cultures of the Tribes at the Institute, located at the foot of the Blue Mountains near Pendleton, Oregon. More than a visitor attraction, this facility helps document and preserve traditions and practices that distinguish the Confederated Tribes from any other peoples.

Things to Do

Eagle Cap Excursion Train

This scenic train operates on a 63 mile long railroad, linking the communities of Elgin, Wallowa, Enterprise and Joseph in Northeast Oregon. Along the way, the track passes through spectacular areas as it follows the Wild & Scenic Grande Ronde River down stream, then by the Wallowa River and across the beautiful Wallowa Valley to the base of the towering Wallowa Mountains. The track, historically known as the Joseph Branch, is owned by the governments of Wallowa and Union Counties and operated by the Wallowa Union Railroad Authority, which also operates rail freight service on the track.
