Visit
the City of Jacksonville
Nestled
in the foothills of the Siskiyou Mountains of
Southern Oregon is Historic Jacksonville, an old
western mining town and cultural center. Jacksonville
is the home of Britt Music Festival where top
name entertainers perform throughout the summer
in Pacific Northwest's premiere outdoor concert
theatre venue. The classical series features musicians
who come together each summer from the country's
best orchestra's to perform under the stars.
This entire town is a National Historic Landmark,
where history comes to life on it's charming streets.
The Jacksonville Museum takes visitors back in
time as they explore the old west and learn about
the pioneers who braved the Oregon Trail. The
children's museum engages children in hands on
learning as they dress up as pioneers, play in
a true replica of a general store and old school
house and experience pioneer living. On the hill
overlooking the western and Victorian structures
is the old cemetery with deer meandering through
it's moss covered trees and gothic headstones.
Jacksonville
is also the gateway to Oregon's wild Rogue River
Adventures and also to Oregon's Vineyards and
tasting rooms. The perfect place for a vacation
where history, music and nature are experienced! |
